Nafisa Ali’s Daughter’s Bridal Avatar Is Unbelievably Dreamy And We’ll Let The Pictures Talk!

Yeah, I’m sure you know my opening line- ’tis the season. Sorry, but you know I’m not going to let go of the last opportunity to say ’tis the season!

Haven’t the shaadis this year just taken fashion style and bridal couture to another level? From the wedding of the year, which was more of a phenomenon of the year- Virushka to the Sagarika-Zaheer wedding, one thought we all had- shaadi karungi toh Sabya ka lehenga pehen ke karoongi, warna dulhe ko tata bye bye kar doongi!

C’mon girls don’t lie, we all secretly want to get married in a dreamy set up, don’t we?! And so we bring to you, another gorgeous bride rocking her unconventional lehenga and getting her stunning avatar on!

Nafisa Ali’s daughter, Pia Zaranna Sodhi married her childhood friend Kshitij Khemka in Delhi. The wedding boasted of sheer elegance and class and the bride herself looked nothing short of drop-dead-gorgeous!

Perhaps Nafisa @nafisaalisodhi doesn't know this, but I first saw her in Park Circus Station. I was just a young boy on a train, and she was with her father, camera in hand, photographing the kids outside. I leaned so far out of the window that I almost fell out. Then I saw her in Junoon. I was spellbound, infatuated. I wouldn't leave the movie hall even after the closing credits – hoping that she would appear on screen again. I had a Nafisa Ali obsession! Many years later, on the set of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish, I got to know her personally. And today I am privileged to design her daughter’s wedding lehenga. I know it will make my father smile as only he knew what Nafisa meant to me – a middle class boy in suburban Calcutta, with nothing but a pocketful of dreams and a whiff of beauty through the window of a speeding train.
