Embarrassed By The ‘Naagin Dance’ Of The Groom, Bride Calls Off Wedding And Goes Home

Weddings are fun. But let’s admit it, Indian weddings are MORE fun. Because there are so many must-do’s at any Indian wedding. For starters, the big-fat scale, lots & lots of food, jute chupayi and the money that comes with it and most importantly, the naagin dance!

Slithering like a naagin on the dance floor, having someone play the been for you and then squeezing yourself on the floor in uncomfortable positions with your tongue hanging out…you get the picture right? But before all that ensues a few bottoms-up have to go down.

Priyanka Tripathi, 23 was all set to marry Anubhav Mishra in Shahjahanpur district, UP and rituals were about to begin. Just then, Mr. Mishra, who was very drunk broke into naagin dance.

The boy got out of his car and onlookers could tell that he was drunk. The DJ was palying a naagin song in the background. The groom just started tripping on it while his friends started showering notes on him.

Embarrassed by the ‘scene’ that the boy created, Priyanka decided that a drunk man was NO suitable for her. While relatives from the groom’s side tried to convince her, she did not budge. In the end, everyone had to go home. Priyanka’s family supported her decision, her father said –

“The boy created quite a scene, I had to support my girl. We saw what happened.”

The internet is lauding Priyanka’s bold step of not giving into marriage, because of the pressure.

1. A powerful step indeed

2. Go Priyanka!

On the other hand, Twitter is also kind of cracking up on the whole thing.

1. I get it…

2. Sounds about right.

3. Bhaari pad gaya naagin dance!

4. I don’t know about menace now, I kinda like naagin dance!

Standing up for herself and saying that she won’t marry an irresponsible man who can not stand straight on his own wedding day, Priyanka is internet’s newly found hero.

Let’s not treat naagin dance too harsh, okay?
