Mumbai Hotel’s Sweet Gesture Towards A Man Dining Alone Is Winning The Internet!

Coming home from a long day to a warm meal and the company of a loved one drives all your stress away. And as someone who lives away from home, I can agree that this is what we long for. People away from home often have to resort to restaurants and hotels for their dinner – and more often than not, they dine alone. But this gesture by a 5-star hotel in Mumbai to make sure that their guest doesn’t have to dine alone is absolute gold.

Prakash Mallya, MD at Intel India, was in Mumbai and took a stop at one of the restaurants of the Trident hotel in Bandra Kurla complex for a quick meal. Spotting the diner alone at the table, the staff placed a fishbowl at the table to ensure he had some company.

Delighted by the gesture, Prakash shared a photo on Twitter and wrote, “The hotel staff come by to leave this on my table as company given I was eating alone. So nice & thoughtful and something that’s never happened in all my travel thus far?!”

His tweet gained attention of people who admired the sweet gesture by the hotel staff. While some appreciated the thoughtfulness of the act, others wished they had that in their lives!

Even the hotel itself responded and thanked him for his kind words.

As reported by Indian Express, the hotel officials said-

“At Trident Bandra Kurla – a large part of the clientele involves guests travelling on business who frequently dine alone. This delightful gesture of placing a fish bowl on the table is to keep guests engaged, thus adding a personal touch to their meal experience.”

This is such a kind gesture that it does put a smile on my face!
