Samajwadi Party Chief and ex-CM of Uttar Pradesh Mulayam Singh Yadav is quite regular with controversial statements. Now he has triggered yet another controversy with his rape remarks.
Recently, while speaking at a program, during the distribution of free e-rickshaws, he came up with yet another statement that has shocked the nation.
‘It is impossible for 4 people to rape someone together. If one brother commits rape, his three other brothers would also be made accused in the case.’
The Samajwadi Party supremo has asked Akhilesh Yadav to look into the matter and revoke the law so that the ‘innocents’ are not bothered in these cases.
After years of ‘research’ on rape, the leader believes if there is one place with the lowest number of rapes, that is Uttar Pradesh.
He said, “Out of the total rape cases in the country, only 2 percent were reported from the state. It is less than in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ruled Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. Some people are trying to tarnish the image of the SP government in the name of poor law and order in UP”
Earlier, he criticised the amended anti-rape laws and said, ‘Boys will be boys, they commit mistakes.”
