15 Movies You Should Watch When You Need To Feel Good About Your Life

I’m really good at having shit days. I’m moody 80% of the time and that pretty much means annoyed, sarcastic or pissy. So when I welcome the weekend, I plan to do it with some more positivity, hence the feel-good movies. Whether it’s a bad breakup or a horrible day, these movies will make you feel like life is going to be okay!

So here’s what you got to watch…

1. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

Life happens right now, it doesn’t wait for gym class to get over. This movie makes you want to explore world at your innocent best, instead if waiting to do it the grown up way!

 

2. Silver Linings’ Playbook

They are so fucked up, that my relationship (non-existent) seems more functional. It’s one of those movies where you see to get to know people who make you feel good about your life by comparison.

 

3. It’s A Wonderful Life

It’s the movie you curl up to when christmas is around the corner and you have no real plans to speak of. That’s what I do anyway!

 

4. Bridget Jones Diary

This woman gives me hope. I think to myself if Bridget Jones can get two guys fighting over her, lose weight and get her life in order so can I. It’s like a normal woman’s claim to a better life.

 

5. Cool Runnings

What happens when you try excelling in surfing when in Rajasthan? Yeah, well that’s what happens when you try bob sledging in Jamaica. In a weather you haven’t experienced, a sport you know nothing about, but they do a damn good job of it.

 

6. Amelie

Constantly making the top of all Quora and Reddit lists, Amelie is a pleasure to watch. She’s busy fixing everyone’s lives and on the quest to doing it, she fixes her own too. But what she really fixes, is your perspective!

 

7. Dazed and confused

Any movie that has Matthew Mcconaughey is a must watch. School’s over and before college takes over your life, a big-ass party season is upon us. So if you’re in that phase or you’re reminiscing, go and live it through this movie.

 

8. The Grand Budapest Hotel

This movie is ridiculously funny. You’ve got everything, humor, loyalty, a murder, a stolen painting and the rich and famous. It’ll make you forget all your troubles.

 

9. The Way, Way Back

He experiences life for real only when he goes to Water Wizz. It’s like he sees all the good parts in super speed and decides to hold on to them and go his own way, to make more memories.

 

10. Anchorman

Part 1 and 2 both are equally good. It’s one of the top funniest movies when you do a quick Google search. This anchorman cares about nothing and no-one except himself. And his whole life is just worth the watch.

 

11. The Lunchbox

The most honest, heartwarming and innocent love story. It’ll make you all gooey inside, just like the delicious food.

 

12. Queen

It’s all about making your choices, breaking those barriers and making a life you’re proud of. Solo travel, broken weddings, lots of friends, this movie did everything right.

 

13. English Vinglish

Sri Devi has added her own element to every movie she’s done but this one, by far, is my favourite. You’ll see how happy and welcoming life is, if you just let it drive you.

 

14. Chak De India

A movie about bonding, women working in a man’s world and winning gold. It’s really inspiring and their team spirit towards the end, really makes you emotional.

 

15. Munna Bhai M.B.B.S

If you want a fun, happy movie, which preaches a certain kind of lifestyle, one that you’re too afraid to live, watch Munna Bhai. It’ll put a smile on your face with it’s simplicity and joy.
