You would think that when you are paying a bomb of a price to fly from one place to another rather than taking the long train or road route, you would at least get decent experience and service. But I guess, it would be considered ‘asking for too much’ these days.
A rather unusual but similar news came to us today about two different airlines.
Passengers had a really uncomfortable experience as they had to swat mosquitoes in a Jet Airways flight.
One of them shot a video of the swatting and honestly, it looks really weird, having to swat them away in a flight.

In a similar situation in an Indigo flight, a passenger was offloaded from the aircraft because he complained of mosquitoes.
The Indigo flight from Lucknow to Bengaluru was full of mosquitoes, when I raised objection, I was manhandled by the crew and offloaded from the aircraft, I was even threatened: Dr.Saurabh Rai,Passenger pic.twitter.com/00XKxuIAUP

I am so weirded out by this that I have nothing but a cringed face. Mosquitoes in a flight? With nowhere to go, no repellant that can be used and a long journey ahead – sounds like an irritating-non-fatal version of Snakes on a Plane.
Twitter was a mix of angry, funny and sarcastic reacts.
1. #UniteAgainstSpeciesism
Good job by Indigo. Such speciesism shouldn't be tolerated. Why this hate against mosquitoes? https://t.co/Pgz16qTs2V

4. That just implies that the area is not kept clean…
Seems Lucknow airport is a breeding ground for mosquitoes. Enjoy visuals of passengers on board a Jet Airways craft today on a swatting spree!https://t.co/E7V7KXsi8U

5. You have to find humour in situations, my friend.
The commentary is hilarious as well. The guy shooting the video says "Mosquitos sld be charged for tickets to fly on planes. They outnumber the passengers." https://t.co/hM3zRLvX8a

10. Absolutely relieved they backed out.
And they wanted to buy Air India. So glad they have withdrawn from the bid. Indigo should first get its house in order before aiming for the skies https://t.co/fj7yN726WP

IndiGo airline has been in the news quite often for their ill-treatment of passengers and pathetic state of services. Jet Airways, on the other hand, was called out for its pilots leaving the cockpit after a heated altercation.
We choose to travel by airway to shorten the commute, to get good and comfortable service and to be treated well. So is a hassle-free journey and good service too much to ask for?
