Not just in India but in several parts of the world, a person who is single and isn’t willing to date is thought of as someone who has a serious problem. After a man or a woman hits their mid-twenties, they are expected to settle down or at least date.
However, the mother of a 38-year-old man took him to a psychiatrist because he was single and had never brought a girl home.
According to Times Now, the incident occurred in China’s Hunan province. The man in question is Wang who used to work as an actor and is now a tennis coach. He says he has a busy life and doesn’t have time to date. Understandable.
“I should not be identified as an unmarried person. I am just very busy and haven’t met the right person. My mum can’t sleep because I don’t get married, so I feel quite upset,” he says.
Lunar New Year is an important Chinese festival and his mother expected his son would bring a girlfriend home for her to meet. But he never did so. Hence, since 2020 after every Lunar holiday, his mother takes him to the psychiatric hospital.
What’s funny is, after this year’s visit, the doctor said that Wang suffered from no mental disorder but his mother suffer from an illness called “forcing her son to marry”!
Wang revealed that in his hometown, he is known by the phrase “super old single man”. He says that he doesn’t even have enough money to build a house.
“Who would want to marry me?” he asks.
