Families have a tendency of putting the younger members into awkward situations. Who better than desi kids would understand that? From taking interest in our love lives to being the first ones to notice when we gain weight, their comments often sting the bejesus out of us!
But as it turns out, this isn’t the case in desi households alone. Even videsi families tend to do the same! For example, one man named Adem Waterman took to Twitter to post a screenshot of his WhatsApp chat with his mother, reports Mirror UK. She asked him if he has a boyfriend yet, to which he answered no. To this, the mother asked, “Do you think it’s your personality or your looks?”
Well, if that didn’t sting enough, she went on to add, “Your brothers and sisters have partners.”
It’s hard for some people to be single on holidays. Imagine having your mother rub that onto your face! *screams internally*
Have a look at the tweet here:
MUM 😳
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU TOO. pic.twitter.com/lM6DCcRmoW

When the mother was told that the tweet went viral, she asked her son to tell his friends that she wasn’t “brutal” – his “friends” being random people on Twitter!
Can you all be nicer to my mum please 😂 pic.twitter.com/j7FV1oD7HJ

People online had their own fair share of savage family stories to share. Here’s some of them:
When I phoned my gran to tell her I’d given birth to a baby girl, and I was naming her Violet, my gran said, ‘Oh, I won’t write that name on the card incase you change your mind.’
And she didn’t. The card said Baby.
😂😂😂😂

My family are also savage! I have recently lost weight and got the following “compliments” 🤷🏼♀️ 1: where is your belly? 2: your face isn’t round anymore! 3: bet it’s easier to get around without that weight 😂😂 I think they mean well ❤️

I phoned my Nanna once after yet another job rejection. She said ‘Do you think it’s because you’re past your best?’
I was 39.

Last time I put a boyfriend’s name in an xmas card, my aunty thought I’d got a cat 🐈!!

Very funny, but what I take away from this is how lucky we are that we now have parents of gay children who’s only concern is that they don’t yet have a boyfriend. ❤️

If it makes you feel better, my Uncle gave me a chat recently about how I should think about freezing my eggs. MY UNCLE not even my Mum!!! 😱

Why do mothers have to be so hilariously brutal?
