Called A ‘Monster’ For Her Mole-Covered Body, This 20-YO Might Be The Next Miss Universe

Moles

In a big world of ours, there’s beauty in each and everything around us. We just need the eye to see that. But sadly, the eyes are tainted and there’s a veil that only sees the external beauty, the external features of people. But, why? Just because someone doesn’t match your criterion of beauty standards, doesn’t mean s/he isn’t beautiful. Shattering the pseudo-standards of beauty is this Malaysian girl.

All her life, 20-year-old Malaysian, Evita Patcey Edgar Delmundo, hailing from Sabah (Malaysia) has faced bullying and been called a monster, choco chip cookie, and various names.

But, getting past all that shaming and bullying, Evita just auditioned for the Miss Universe Pageant, Malaysia and is winning praises for her great step.

One look at her Instagram and you’d be a fan. That confidence we see is achieved after a really long struggle and because the moles cover the whole of her body, she was often the centre of attention (sadly, not for the right reasons).

The day she turned up to audition, she turned a lot of heads and it was quite a feat. She even posed with Miss Universe Malaysia 2017.

In an interview with Elle, she said when she attended the church camp at 16, that was the time she wholly started accepting herself.

“I really learned how to love myself and communicate with others. This was probably the first time I truly started accepting who I was, how I look.”

She was about to go under the knife, but the doctors said the risk of losing her life was high. She embraced herself and we are so glad she did.

Though, she’s yet to hear from the organisers whether or not she’s proceeded to the next round; Evita is keeping a positive attitude.

“I’m just keeping my fingers crossed. If I don’t get through, there’s always another platform.”

We are so rooting for her to get selected and for her to break the stereotypes of beauty standards. The world needs more young girls like Evita!
