Model Ramp Walks At Copenhagen Fashion Week Dressed As A Dirty Tablecloth With Food On It

If you have ever seen a fashion show or any fashion event, you would agree that most of the dresses we see on the models are not for common people to wear and roam around in the city.

More than just showcasing the designer’s vision on the ramp, fashion runways have become like a playing ground where designers perform theatrics taking everyone by surprise.

We say this because we just came across a video from the Copenhagen Fashion Week wherein the model was dressed as a dirty tablecloth.

As bizarre as it sounds, it did happen when designer siblings Nanna and Simon Wick presented their Autumn/Winter 2023 collection.

A clothing brand shared the video which opens with model Sarah Dahl, sitting at a table along with other guests. On looking at her, dressed in a pink corset and mini skirt, no one could have guessed she is up to something.

After getting her cue, the model clinks her glass as if she’s going to raise a toast. Once all eyes were on her, she swiftly stands and starts adjusting her clothes.

Then she preps for her walk, and in 3..2..1, she moves ahead, taking all the crockery sitting on the tablecloth attached to her dress along with her. She legit had a banging walk as all the food plates, glasses, food, cigarette butts, and white card invitations that were kept on the table fell on the floor.

You need to watch this video (probably multiple times) to believe that it actually happened.

People had lots to say about this ‘bartan tod’ entry of the model on the runway. Mostly, the designer was criticized for wasting food and unnecessarily breaking perfect crockery in the name of fashion.

Apparently, the designer had a vision of showcasing sustainable fashion. But I don’t think he thought it through. What do you think of this?
