“When I Was In A Relationship, It Was Polluted With Misconceptions,” Ranbir Opens Up.

The golden boy of Bollywood has re-claimed his throne by delivering a hit. After a series of box-office misses, Ranbir Kapoor’s charm worked well in Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’. While countless praises keep coming his way, Ranbir doesn’t believe them all.

In an interview with NDTV, Ranbir spilled the beans on why he thinks he’s a mediocre star, how being single is extremely boring and that his much- talked about relationship with Katrina Kaif was clouded by misconceptions.

He’s made quite a name for himself and despite his films not delivering at the box-office, Ranbir the actor always delivered. But tell him that, and chances are he wouldn’t believe you.

“I judge myself as somebody who’s very mediocre and eighty percent of the times when people compliment me, I believe that they’re not saying the truth. And, I think it’s also a little bit of that, that I don’t believe them. So, I’d rather not listen to something that I don’t believe in.”

With all the scepticism aside, Ranbir believes in working really hard and striving toward giving his audience something memorable. Something, he’d be remembered for.

Besides, few of his roles, fresh in everyone’s memories is always his love life and the casanova tag he bears. His last one being the most talked-about affair. With Katrina Kaif he wanted a respectful, dignified closure.

“When I was in a relationship, it was polluted with misconceptions. Now when I’m not, I didn’t want another set of misconceptions to start. So, you know, I wanted to have a dignified closure to it. To give it the respect I felt. And I’m not even a percent of the respect that I think I need to give it.”

Now, when he’s single, we’re sure there’d be many takers. But the Kapoor boy doesn’t want to settle down, he wishes to settle into something. Even on Koffee With Karan, Ranbir was seen quipping how boring it is to be single.

“It’s boring, frustrating, it’s extremely lonely, and happiness is only there when it’s shared. When you have somebody, it kind of just ground you, brings a sense of balance to things. Yeah, so being single is no fun.”

The 34-year-old star is out of a serious relationship and doesn’t want to jump into one, right now. Though ready to mingle, for him, the-settling-down-clock isn’t ticking that fast.

“I could have a family at the age of 40, 45, 50. I don’t think my time is running out.”

Presently, RK has his plate quite full with films like his home-production ‘Jagga Jasoos’, Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Dragon’ and Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Sanjay Dutt’ biopic.
