Director Milap Zaveri Lost 36 Kg In Eight Months, His Flab To Fit Journey Is Inspiring!

Every Sunday I go to bed in full beast mode. I think about the productive week ahead I’m going to have and how this will the day I’ll actually start going to the gym. However, as Monday strikes and with it the blues, the lazy kid inside me takes precedence. ‘Thoda aur sona hai’ syndrome kicks in and all my working out plans go down the drain.

Director of Satyamev Jayate featuring John Abraham has undergone a massive transformation in just eight months. He went from being 130 kgs to 94 kgs losing about 36 kilos till now.

That’s one hell of a transformation, am I right?!

According to Mid-day, Zaveri’s dramatic transformation obviously wasn’t easy and was not an overnight phenomena, especially owing to the fact that he had never really maintained a healthy lifestyle before.

Zaveri got a wake up call when his application for a health insurance was turned down due to him being obese. He said,

“When I applied for mediclaim last August, I was rejected because I was 130 kg! I needed to be less than 100 kg to get one. I was shocked and scared when I learnt that I couldn’t get a policy for my wife Gouri and son Mehaan because I was overweight.”

He felt that he was being an irresponsible father and husband for not being able to give his family medical insurance. That’s when the weight loss bug bit him.

He started eating healthier from the very next day itself.

Once a fast food junkie, Milap took a 360 degree turn when it came to eating habits. He never consulted a dietitian or a trainer but just changed his habits and did all this by himself.

The writer-director said that he simply reduced his carb intake. Now his breakfast includes boiled egg sandwich and tea with sugar. For lunch it is only nuts and fruits and paneer, dal, veggies or eggs for dinner. All this along with 90 minutes of cardio, six days a week and he’s down to 94 kgs.

Milap even mentions that all that hard work has paid off and his medical insurance application was accepted in January.

Zaveri assures people struggling with losing weight that it isn’t a Herculean task and just needs small changes in life. He said,

“You need to control your cravings for the first two weeks, thereafter it will be easy. Treat yourself every 10 days, so that you don’t falter on your diet and remain motivated.”

So this amazing story just goes to show that weight loss and transformation isn’t about spending tons on gyms, diets and trainers. All you need is dedication, hard work and not giving up!
