Well, it seems like a newly-wed police couple is living ‘The Incredibles’ life in reality. Chase and Nicole McKeown, two off-duty officers, were out for a date night at a restaurant chain in Kentucky, reports CNN. The night started out all nice and romantic for the couple that has been married for 6 months now.

However, things took an odd turn while they were eating dinner. A man wearing a mask entered the restaurant and went up to the cash counter.” I think we kind of both saw him at the same time,” Nicole was quoted saying. At first, she thought the man was sick because it was the flu season. However, later she saw the employee behind the counter put their hands up and that’s when the couple realized what was actually happening.

The officers reacted immediately and drew their weapons out to chase the man out of the eatery, reports the New York Post. Surveillance showed that the suspect dropped his weapon while running away from the couple. The cop-duo pursued the man for a few blocks away until they finally caught him. They held him at gunpoint until the Louisville Metro Police arrived and arrested him.

“It is my belief that if not for the heroic actions of these two officers the perpetrator’s actions inside the business would have escalated, they acted honorable and heroically,” Deputy Dan Mason of the LMPD’s robbery unit was quoted saying.“We are police officers 24 hours a day, seven days a week, on or off duty,” he added.

The suspect, a convicted felon is now in custody in Louisville. The couple’s instinct that kicked in time helped save the situation. Well, kudos to the power couple for their quick thinking and swift actions.
