We are no stranger to the fact that Facebook provides us the opportunity to meet and talk to strangers, better than all the dating sites out there. While a healthy conversation is always appreciated, people often bump into desperate individuals who fail to understand and stay within the limits.
Such is the case of Krishna Baghel, a 31-year-old Uttar Pradesh resident, who walked into a trap laid by the father of a girl, stalked and harassed by him. We are going to tell you how.
Krishna and the victim became Facebook friends about six months ago. Krishna had introduced himself to the girl as an actor and video editor based in Agra. As the days passed, Krishna proposed the 22-year-old girl for marriage. He was rejected.
According to Mirror Now News, annoyed by the girl’s answer, Krishna went onto morph the woman’s face onto a ‘nude’ photo and posted it online. He also sent the nudes to her friends on various social media platforms and used it as a tool to threaten the girl.
The girl finally stepped up to take an action and filed an FIR with the police on July 20.
However, after coming across the girl’s agony, her father decided to take the matter into his own hands. He called the accused, introduced himself as a Mumbai-based producer and said he was looking for an actor for the protagonist’s role in a movie titled ‘Mai Hu Auto Wala’.
All these steps were taken by keeping the police informed.
Overwhelmed by the offer, Krishna agreed to visit the city of Mumbai. In a Facebook post on July 26th, Krishna even wrote about the role he had landed.
“Ram, Ram all my friends…I am going to Mumbai Bollywood movie shoot (sic)…Mai Hu Auto Wala.”
As soon as he reached Mumbai, the girl’s father alerted the Mumbai police. He was then arrested by Sakinaka police from Andheri (East).
Krishna Baghel was charged with stalking and criminal intimidation under the Indian Penal Code (IPC). To add to his miseries, he was also booked under IT Act. He has been sentenced to police custody till July 31st.
