This Man Has Been Cleaning Dandi Beach Without Expecting Any Awards For 4 Years. #Respect

One visit to the Dandi beach in Navsari and you will be shocked by the cleanliness there. After all, Indian beaches are not particularly known for being clean.

Dandi beach is one the cleanest beaches that one will come across in the south of Gujarat. And it’s all because of the efforts of one man. Kalu Dangar, a social scientist in his 40’s leaves his home with a mission every morning at 6:30am. Carrying a huge waste collection bag in his hand, he has been tirelessly cleaning the Dandi beach since the past 4 years.

Every day, for two hours he cleans three square kilometres on Dandi sea front and picks all the litter thrown by the visitors. Not only that, after his clean-up mission, he then visits Dandi Chowpatty to clean the main entrance and the garden. He also fills the 2,000-litre overhead tanker for the visitors.

In an interview with the Times of India, he said, “I always ask the visitors to throw the litter in the dustbin. They do not follow my plea, and throw the litter on the beach.”
