Former Pilot Sells Meals In Uniform After Being Laid-Off Amid Covid, Support Floods In

Several people have ended up losing their jobs due to the coronavirus pandemic and the lockdown that followed. But many of them haven’t lost hope. For instance, after losing his 9-5 job as a business analyst, a Mumbai guy turned his drone flying hobby into a photography career.

As per a report in The Indian Express, a Malaysian pilot named Azrin Mohamad Zawawi who lost his job due to the pandemic after 2 decades in the aviation industry, has started running a small noodle stall in a suburb outside Kuala Lumpur. The 44-year old sells meals wearing his white pilot uniform and black captain’s hat.

Azrin said, “I need some income because I was retrenched by my previous company.” The father of four decided to start a food stall named ‘Kapten Corner’ after being deprived of his regular income. He decided to make use of a family recipe and make Malaysian dishes like a curry noodle dish named ‘laksa’ and a mixed fruit dish called ‘rojak’, NDTV reports.

Kapten Corner was visited by one of Captain Azrin’s cousin by the name of Ain who works in KL. Ain had mee curry and her verdict was.. ‘sedap’.

Another customer named Azman Yunus said, “The main thing is the food must be good…I’ve eaten here twice. The first time I brought my wife and now I bring my friends.”
