“Ram Is A Better Cook Than I Am,” Madhuri Dixit Nene Speaks Of Cooking With Her Husband

It’s no secret that Madhuri Dixit is an exceptionally versatile actress. Not only that, she is a fabulous dancer as well. The ageless goddess is admired for her phenomenal expressions too. Wondering if there is anything the talented woman can’t do?

In a recent interview, the ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’ actor said that she didn’t know how to cook initially. Revealing that she learnt cooking only after marriage, Madhuri has been posting cooking videos with her husband, Dr. Shriram Nene on social media. The couple has been cooking a variety of dishes including breakfast staples like poha and festival-special sweets like modaks.

But what’s really got our attention is the cute banter between the actor and her hubby who tries to learn different Marathi words for ingredients as they prepare the delicacies. Talking about their kitchen masti, the ‘Devdas’ actor was quoted saying by TOI,

“When I was growing up, I knew a little bit of cooking. I could make an omelette or batatyachi bhaaji or poha… those kind of things. I never had the opportunity to cook because I started working very early in life and got busy. I learnt most of the cooking that I know today after I got married.”

She further added,

“Ram had a French cook there (in the US), and he assisted him as a sous chef. So, he has learnt a lot of recipes, which he can make from scratch – be it continental, French or Italian cuisine.”

Talking about adding a desi touch to the food they prepare together, Madhuri shared,

“The Indian part of the cooking is what I picked up from my mom. All the dishes that I make are my mom’s recipes, so he learnt the Indian cooking from my mom and a little bit from me as well (laughs!). Ram is definitely a better cook than I am, but I am not bad either.”

Aww, what an adorable couple! How I wish I could try a dish made by Madhuri!!!!
