Thanks to ZNMD, most of us know what ‘La Tomatina’ is all about – an annual Spanish festival celebrated in the Valencian town of Buñol. It essentially involves a food fight using tomatoes. Some people think it’s fun and helps clean the town’s roads due to the acidity levels of the fruit while others say it is a waste of food.
Back home, at the Shri Radha Rani temple in Barsana (near Mathura, Uttar Pradesh), people gather every year to play ‘Laddu maar Holi’ i.e. using laddus instead of gulal and ‘Lath maar Holi’ which involves women hitting men with sticks.
According to NDTV, both these traditions are associated with Lord Krishna visiting Radha in her hometown Barsana. Check out the video from this year’s celebration:

After watching the video, several people on Twitter pointed out the lack of social distancing and face masks at the gathering that could lead to an increase in the risk of infection in the area.
Great ,but where is mask n distancing??

Pray that people get some good sense and stop crowding like this with or without masks at a time when Covid is spiralling out of control once again.

Holi is a time for friends and family to enjoy themselves together, however, health should always come first. Will you be celebrating the festival differently this year?
