I don’t want to say the same things over and over again but Twinkle Khanna (and her words) hardly leave me any choice. If you don’t know this already, Mrs Funnybones is probably the funniest/sassiest/wittiest netizen we will ever have!
But apart from her bone-tickling humour, it is her unflinching voice about socially relevant issues that rings a bell with millennials.
But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t get her share of cyber-trolling. In fact, she is being lectured on Hindu traditions, as we speak. Why? Because she took to Twitter and posted THIS.
Scientists studying longest living mammals, bowhead whales found for a long life what is needed is a slow metabolism & not wives who fast:)

While there were a few who came to her support and commended her on her opinion (for obvious reasons).
1. Just another day…
@mrsfunnybones #Karwachauth🖖🏽 just another day in medieval male driven chauvinistic Hindu society of ours. Stay Hungry stay Foolish.
— Maddy Supertramp (@who_supertramp) October 8, 2017
2. As it should be!
Bang on! Much needed tweet to promote the discontinuation of useless traditions.

3. WORD

The majority was pissed because they saw it as a threat to Hindu customs and traditions (and years of deep-rooted patriarchy).
1. Humbling experience? *scratching head*

2. Of course, it is about Hindu traditions and NOT about regressive notions.
Scientists say those people who can't speak a word on other religious practices, but can say about Hindu practices are hypocrites
— Avinash Choubey (@avinashchoubey) October 8, 2017
3. The last time I checked, the only person to get healthy when I fast is ME!
Hindu aren't Whales so no comparison! #KarwaChauth is a ritual that doesn't need approval from anyone! It's just fasting & that's healthy too
— Crusader Sudhir 🇮🇳 (@seriousfunnyguy) October 8, 2017
4. Honestly, saw this coming!
Same applies to ramzan why they fast.stop demeaning Hindu tradition for ur so called publicity. question other religions also
— ProudIndian (@lovingIndian1) October 8, 2017
5. How is giving in patriarchal norms not doing any harm?
Agreed
But if someone's faith and sentiments are attached to this tradition and it's not harming any1 so what is wrong???— SHREYA (@wowShreya) October 8, 2017
6. *facepalm*
no one forced you to fast, it's a matter of choice… What's your problem lady ??$top demeaning Hindu traditions.
— @Kk (@KrishnakantN) October 8, 2017
7. I can’t even…
Hindu Aasthaon ka mazaak jab Hindu hi udate hain to acha nahi lagta ..You stay away but why undermine what people believe n do
— Nikesh Chaubey (@NikeshChaubey) October 8, 2017

9. Says one woman to another. *slow claps*
Yes it's not the wives who fast … But the wives who unbutton their husband's jeans on national TV that make their husband live longer!
— Mandeep Arora (@mann_tweeet) October 8, 2017
10. Yes, sir. You are.

How and when will people understand the traditions are made and set by us and maybe then we didn’t know better but we can amend it now. No offence to the culture, but how is participating in a regressive belief hailing our rich heritage? Ladies, you can doll up all you want, ‘detox’ yourself in the name of a fast but let’s not be selective in our approach to progress. Let’s not snatch the credit away from healthy men who have led a healthy lifestyle. Please?
