Karan Johar has had a very interesting life so far. He’s a prominent filmmaker with several Bollywood blockbusters to his name, he’s worked with some of the biggest stars in the business and has never shied away even from something quite edgy (think: AIB Roast). Being so entrenched in this industry of glamour, the filmmaker is bound to have a lot of eye-opening revelations if he ever wrote a book. Well, he just did, and our assumption was a 100% right.
Karan Johar, at the launch event of his biography, ‘An Unsuitable Boy’, made some striking revelations about a whole host of things that’ll surely leave you stunned.
While the filmmaker didn’t make it totally explicit, he cleared all doubts in our minds about his sexuality. However, he feels his orientation has become an entertainment of sorts.
“People judge my sexuality because they think they own me since I am in their living room every day as a TV personality.”
He spoke about the first time he met SRK. It was along with his father, Yash Johar when they were looking to cast the actor for ‘Duplicate’.

What’s more, SRK even asked him to lose some weight so that he could launch him in a film!
Moreover, Karan also revealed that along with SRK, he was also quite close to the star’s family.

“My love for Shah Rukh and his family has been constant and consistent.”
When asked about his fallout with Kajol when their films ‘ADHM’ and ‘Shivaay’ clashed at the box office, Karan refused to reveal too much but confirmed that there was indeed a rift in their relationship.
“I don’t want to say anything more (about her). Chapters end. Books end. Relationships end.”
The filmmaker revealed a pretty unforgettable experience that he had at the screening of ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’.
Finally, Karan Johar talked about his experience in the film industry so far, claiming that it has been a mix of ups and downs.

The director/producer is certainly one of the most prominent figures in Bollywood. His experiences in the industry may truly be an insightful read.
Cannot wait to get my hands on a copy.
