Kapil Sharma Abuses And Threatens News Editor In Heated Phone Call, Conversation On Tape

Kapil Sharma became a national favourite with his comical gigs. The Kapil Sharma Show had experienced astronomical success during the initial months of its one year of being on air. However, a rather public spat with his former colleague and friend Sunil Grover set off the fall in ratings for both Kapil and his show. And now barely a month into his new show Family Time With Kapil Sharma, he has garnered up attention for all the wrong reasons.

Yesterday Kapil tweeted a series of strongly worded (to put it lightly) tweets, seemingly in reaction to Salman Khan’s conviction. The tweets which were deleted soon after had abusive language directed at the media, especially SpotboyE. His twitter handle put out another tweet within a few minutes, claiming that his account had been hacked.

However, today the situation got uglier as SpotboyE released a recording of a phone conversation Kapil had with their editor-in-chief Vickey Lalwani.

SpotboyE sent out the clip via a tweet saying that they reserve the right to hand it over to the Mumbai Police.

In the 15-minute-long recording, Kapil can be heard to abuse and threaten the editor for allegedly putting out negative news about him.

Lalwani explains to Kapil that he has been getting negative media attention for cancelling shoots for his new show. To which Kapil replies saying how could they write such stuff when he could be in depression for all they know.

At this point, Kapil loses his cool and abuses the editor’s mother.

Kapil can be heard to lose his calm within 3 minutes of the conversation and goes into a rant akin to his tweets from yesterday.

The conversation takes an ugly turn as Kapil says the following:

“Bhad**, mad**ch*d. Teri beti mere saath sona chahti hai. Likh na uske baare mein, woh bhi news bikegi.”

4 minutes into the clip, another person who claimed to be Kapil’s brother takes over the phone and asks Lalwani to meet them in the presence of a legal team.

Looks like this controversy is just getting started. We wonder who is to be blamed in this scenario. The media house for putting out negative articles about Kapil and pushing him into depression as he claims, or Kapil Sharma for losing his cool and using such graphic language in public when he has such a huge fan following? Whichever it is, we hope the issue gets sorted out soon in a more civilised manner.
