Kangana’s Recent Interview Is A Testament Of How Gutsy, Opinionated And Vocal She Is!

Kangana Ranaut

Kangana Ranaut is veracious and you know it. She’s gutsy, opinionated and a fine actor. And, is back with another film that looks extremely promising.

In her recent interview with Mid-Day, Kangana bared it all and spoke about how she doesn’t wish to lay herself on the Hollywood platter to how she wouldn’t bow down to bullying.

Taking a slight dig at Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone for being Holly-bound, Kangana says,

“It would be stupid for anyone to make the move to the West now. Their theatre business is crashing because of the influx of digital media. Asia, on the other hand, is where Hollywood was 15 years ago. It is a lucrative time for entertainment here. These are baits that I won’t fall prey to.”

Kangana is all up for World Cinema but wants to concentrate on home-bred films.

“If an American film (‘The Jungle Book’) is doing Rs 100 crore business, and not all our films are able to, we may not find adequate screens for home-bred films 10 years down the line. I’m all for world cinema, but it needs to be a film that brings employment and money into our country. I don’t wish to offer myself on a platter to another industry.”

Kangana thinks men are intimidated by strong, opinionated women and took a potshot at the patriarchal view, while saying,

“Bold, stubborn women, who are achievers, are desirable only to those who are strong and assured. (For some men) it’s frightening to handle a woman who can speak her mind.”

But also adds that thankfully, that’s not true of everyone and that courage is often endearing and rare.

2015 was a year, she was mired in controversies and was in an ugly legal battle with Hrithik Roshan. Commenting on that she said,

“I was dragged to court for being who I am. I was restricted to a relationship that was (carried out) behind closed doors and I fought it fair and square. People [can] talk rubbish, but they can’t decide how I lead my life. I felt stigmatised. I would wake up to [media reports] of hideous mails, which I hadn’t written. I am a certified screenwriter from the New York Film Academy. I don’t write such crap.”

Kangana admitted that she felt betrayed because someone she once shared a beautiful equation with did it with such malice.

But she never could understand the legal drama and refused to apologise.

“I refused. I never completely understood the story — who was impersonating whom? I was threatened that horrifying secrets about me would be revealed. My parents were concerned for my safety, but I couldn’t bear it quietly. There was a group of jealous hats wandering around him (Hrithik), using him to aim vengeance at me.”

During the hard times, she also found people from the industry who cared and supported her. And, our ‘Queen’ declares that she wouldn’t bow down to bullying.

“Prove what you are claiming and then I may apologise. I won’t stand bullying.”

This is as candid as it gets! Woah, Kangana!
