Donald Trump, the 45th President of the United States, recently signed an executive order that put a ban on immigration from seven countries having a Muslim majority including Iraq, Iran and Syria. This caused an outrage across the nation with several celebrities speaking out against the imposed ban.
Kal Penn recently received a heartbreaking text from his friend regarding the matter which he decided to share on Instagram.
Soon enough, a troll flung into action and posted this rather disturbing comment on Kal’s post.
“Because you don’t belong in this country you fucking joke.”
Just a reminder guys, we’re in 2016, and these people still exist.
Kal Penn, instead of simply retaliating on the platform, actually did something way more epic!
To the dude who said I don't belong in America, I started a fundraising page for Syrian Refugees in your name. https://t.co/NOR5P48fBi pic.twitter.com/jtJOsK9GrU

Now that’s one way to destroy the haters with love!
Within minutes, the fundraising page received an overwhelming amount of support.
it's only been 11 minutes & we're halfway to the donor goal, I'm gonna set a new goal, this is awesome. #RefugeesWelcome #Resist 🇺🇸

Moreover, people got quite creative with their donor names.Â
these donor names you guys are using are both funny & moving. Faves so far: kellyanne conwoman, refugees welcome, & Donald trump

No donation goal seemed too large for the people and Kal was overjoyed with the amount of support.
can we do $500k to counter Trump & show love 4 our country & the world's most vulnerable? #YesWeCan#resist https://t.co/NOR5P48fBi

Truly one of the most beautiful means of protest I have ever seen!
Well done, Kal Penn!
