Journalist Molested In Shimla While She Was Reporting Live On New Year’s Eve

Molestations and rapes have somehow become an everyday story. With incidents being reported almost every other day, crimes against women have skyrocketed. Being a woman and stepping out on celebratory occasions have become even more dangerous.

On New Year’s Eve, another such incident was seen. A female journalist, Nidhi Shri, was on duty, in Shimla when someone assaulted her by hitting her on the back.

She said that they had taken a top angle view for coverage of the celebrations because the crowd was lesser there. However, after seeing the camera and newspersons reporting, that area too became crowded.

Nidhi claims that the assaulter was high on some substance when he tried to touch her from the back. Before going live the journalist gave a warning to everyone and changed the shoot location.

However, even after that, the assault continued.

The assailant then came from the back and “spanked” Nidhi. She said that she was left in utter shock and blanked out for a couple of seconds. She then turned around on live TV and slapped the man. But the assaulter too hit her back on her head.

The man then fled from the crowd. Nidhi said that somehow she finished the live broadcast but what she felt through it was horrible.

She also added that if she hadn’t been on a shoot she would have probably heard people policing her. They would have said that she shouldn’t have gone to such a crowded area in the first place.

She casually ended her Facebook post by wishing everyone the best for the new year.
