41-YO Jobless Man Still Gets Pocket Money & Sues Parents For Life-Long Maintenance

After a certain age, every individual is expected to leave the shelter of their parents and fend for themselves. For many of us, we start as early as 21 after freshly graduating from college, moving out of the city, and getting our first job.

However, 41-year-old Faiz Siddiqui has no plan of doing so. The Oxford-graduate lawyer has been jobless since 2011 and is currently demanding his Dubai-based parents to support him financially life-long.

According to The Sun, Faiz has sued his parents in a bid to force them to pay his maintenance cost for life.

For the past 20-years, Faiz has been living rent-free in one of his parents’ flat in London. Despite having worked in some of the top law firms, he has been jobless since 2011. His 69-year-old mom and 71-year-old dad send him Rs 40,000 (£400) pocket money every week. They also pay for his bills and outings.

Faiz says that he is “entitled” to maintenance money “as a vulnerable grown-up child due to health issues and that preventing this would be a violation of his human rights.”

His parents describe him as “difficult, demanding and pertinacious”.

If I would have asked my parents for maintenance at this age, I would have multiple ‘flying chappals’ coming my way!
