J. K Rowling needs no introduction. The world knows here for her writing prowess and children (including me when I was one) know here for her ability to create magic with just words. And characters that are arguably the most larger-than-life portrayals I have ever seen.
But apart from being a celebrity writer, Rowling is well known for the firebrand she is. Be it her honest opinion about current affairs or the way she roasts POTUS Donald Trump, J. K Rowling doesn’t really need more than 140 characters to make herself heard.
But fellas, when she does, it is nothing less than a pressing problem that our society, very conveniently, ignores.
J. K Rowling recently went on a Twitter rant about a man she unfollowed for calling U.K’s Prime Minister, Theresa May, a ‘whore.’ Read her entire thread here.Â
1. It began with…
Just unfollowed a man whom I thought was smart and funny, because he called Theresa May a whore. 1/14

2. Oh, she knows how to flip the finger!
If you can’t disagree with a woman without reaching for all those filthy old insults, screw you and your politics. 2/14
— J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) June 9, 2017
3. EVERYTIME
I’m sick of ‘liberal’ men whose mask slips every time a woman displeases them, who reach immediately for crude and humiliating words 3/14
— J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) June 9, 2017
4. Talk about that!
associated with femaleness, act like old-school misogynists and then preen themselves as though they’ve been brave. 4/14
— J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) June 9, 2017
5. Couldn’t agree more!
When you do this, Mr Liberal Cool Guy, you ally yourself, wittingly or not, with the men who send women violent pornographic images 5/14
— J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) June 9, 2017
6. WORD
and rape threats, who try by every means possible to intimidate women out of politics and public spaces, both real and digital. 6/14
— J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) June 9, 2017
7. Is this 2017?
‘Cunt’, ‘whore’ and, naturally, rape. We’re too ugly to rape, or we need raping, or we need raping and killing. 7/14
— J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) June 9, 2017
8. I know so many…
Every woman I know who has dared express an opinion publically has endured this kind of abuse at least once, 8/14
— J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) June 9, 2017
9. Because the gender decides all!
rooted in an apparent determination to humiliate or intimidate her on the basis that she is female. 9/14
— J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) June 9, 2017
10. Unbelievable!
If you want to know how much fouler it gets if you also happen to be black or gay, ask Diane Abbot or Ruth Davidson. 10/14
— J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) June 9, 2017
11. Or you for the matter of fact…
I don’t care whether we’re talking about Theresa May or Nicola Sturgeon or Kate Hooey or Yvette Cooper or Hillary Clinton: 11/14
— J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) June 9, 2017
12. N.O.T
femaleness is not a design flaw. If your immediate response to a woman who displeases you 12/14
— J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) June 9, 2017
13. And you will never be!
is to call her a synonym for her vulva, or compare her to a prostitute, then drop the pretence and own it: you’re not a liberal. 13/14
— J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) June 9, 2017
14. An ugly one at that.Â
You’re a few short steps away from some guy hiding behind a cartoon frog. 14/14
— J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) June 9, 2017
The entire tirade was directed at writer John Niven who called Theresa May names after the election result were out and so was her decision to side with the DUP to manage Brexit!

Needless to say, it hit the writer where it should and he left a note which speaks a lot about his embarrassment.Â

Bet he will remember the schooling for a long time to come. The world needs more like you J.K Rowling. Kudos!
