Jackie Shroff Is Happy But Worried About The ‘Maushichi’ Slang In ‘Deadpool 2’ Hindi

‘Deadpool 2’ is releasing this week & Marvel fans are ecstatic to see the Merc with a mouth in action again. What makes Wade Wilson’s return to the big screen even better for desi Marvel fans is that it’s releasing in Hindi as well. And yes, it’ll be largely untouched by the dreaded CBFC and will be a no-holds barred roller-coaster ride.

When ‘Deadpool’ came out in 2016, it was obviously dubbed for the Indian audiences. However, the reason why its successor’s Hindi version is getting more attention is because Deadpool is being voiced by none other than Ranveer Singh. In addition to that, what seems to have caught everyone’s eye is the use of a slang made popular by Jackie Shroff.

Ranveer Singh has been seen promoting ‘Deadpool 2’s Hindi version with ‘Maushichi’ as his catch-phrase. However, only true Bollywood fans will understands the meaning of this meta reference.

Deadpool’s jokes are known to be very meta and one needs to have a very deep understanding of pop culture to understand what he’s saying. Thankfully, Ranveer Singh didn’t just voice him, but also imbued that aspect of his character. So, when he wore the ‘Maushichi’ t-shirt, we knew that he was referring to Jackie Shroff’s expletive-ridden blooper reel.

Being the most famous user of this gaali, Jackie Shroff noticed this trend and shared his thoughts about its use in ‘Deadpool 2’.

According to Mid-Day, Jackie Shroff was amused to know about the use of the now famous slang. However, he has his concerns.

“I am happy that it has become iconic. It’s interesting that they have used it in a Hollywood film. [But] when I said it, I did so in jest. People need to understand that as actors, we try to de-stress by joking around. But, I would like to tell kids that they should learn good things rather than pick up [the habit of using] slang.”

Well, Jackie Shroff will be happy to know that both versions of ‘Deadpool 2’ are strictly meant for audiences who’re above 18 years of age. So, no kids will be allowed to watch it. In addition to that, as Deadpool too uses all his slangs in the most comedic way possible, those who’ll get to watch it will certainly understand the context and use it in a similar way.

Being a fan of comic-book movies, I’m certainly happy to see that names like Deadpool and Avengers have become the talk of the town. Additionally, it’s great to see big names like Ranveer Singh and Jackie Shroff rooting for it in a responsible manner.
