Indians & Pakistanis Unite To Celebrate Independence Day In London, Sing ‘Sandese Aate Hai’

While Indians celebrate Independence Day on August 15, our neighbouring country Pakistan celebrates their Independence Day on August 14. And for those Indians and Pakistanis who live abroad, coming together to share the occasion is very common. And that’s exactly what happened in London.

A singer named Vish who calls himself UK’s first Bollywood Busker (playing music in the street for voluntary donations) shared a video recently where we can see a huge crowd consisting of both Indians and Pakistanis singing ‘Sandese Aate Hai’ while waving their respective country flags.

It is truly heartwarming to see people from two nations, that are often divided by hate, come together for this meaningful occasion. Vish shared the video on Instagram and wrote, “Nice to see there’s no hate in England.”

That’s not all. The crowd also sang songs like ‘Teri Mitti’, ‘Jai Ho’ and ‘Maa Tujhe Salaam’ together.

“I asked Indians & Pakistanis to join me at Piccadilly Circus in London & this is what happened,” Vish wrote.

Several people online were touched by this incident and showered a lot of love on the people who came together and taught the world that love always, always wins over hate.

There is such beauty in unity! 🙂
