Indians Are Losing Their Shit Over Zuckerberg’s Post On The Top 10 Nations That Use Emojis

It was World Emoji Day on 17th July and the world was celebrating obviously by sending emojis (Were they?). Now, emojis are such an integral part of our daily conversation that sometimes, they express better than what we actually want to say. Amirite?

Mark Zuckerberg on the occasion of this day, shared this post-

However, this post turned into a battle ground of emotions for a lot of Indians. Wondering why? Because there was no mention of India and this angered a lot of people.
To put things in perspective, India is the largest consumer of Facebook and there’s no mention of the country. And thus began the outrage & a series of offended comments-

1. He should have used an emoji at the end, TBH! (Hey, you want us to be on the list, right?)

2. Emojis= Respect

3. Answering your own question?

4. He has figured it all out!

5. After getting offended, we boycott!

6. This one has already decided on a name!

7. Pretty sure, he meant popular?

8. Yes, it all comes down to spirituality!

While there were these users who were busy getting offended, some were of opinion that it wasn’t such a big deal and thought there were more pressing problems than this.

1. TRUE!

2. Well played, my friend!

3. Hey, that’s exactly what happened!

4. He has his priorities sorted!

5. Yes, let’s focus on bigger problems…

Fellow Indians, do we really need validation from someone for using emojis in our conversations? Really?! Does being on a list define us? It’s just a vanity metric.

Here’s a totally unrelated random quote to end the article,
“Confidence is silent. Insecurities are loud.” 😉
