This month saw the intense rescue of the 12 boys and their football coach trapped in a cave in Thailand. The whole world came together in support of the kids and their heroic coach who kept them alive despite the harsh conditions. There was a collective sigh of relief as the hardworking rescue team successfully rescued them all safely.
In the aftermath of that ordeal, a video of a rescue mission in India is grabbing eyeballs on the internet.
A viral video shows a bunch of young men in Karnataka, pull out a goat that fell down a deep tube-well.
What makes this rescue mission stand out, is that one of the men literally goes down into the dark congested hole, headfirst to save the trapped animal.
His friends hold him by the legs and pull him up when he signals them that he has managed to grab a hold of the goat.

While some netizens have responded to the video with praises, others have questioned why the deep well was left open as a safety hazard in the first place:
1. Be nice to animals. Period.

2. Good Samaritans for the win!
Oh man! Overwhelming and Noble and Godly. Such compassion. Like Gandhiji said " a society is judged by the way it treats it's animals". Kudos to these good Samaritans. Bless them all. 👌🙏

4. Could we have a goat-sized submarine too?
Ha Ha..I am more interested in knowing Elon Musk's rescue plan for this

5. True, better safety measures should’ve been taken.
It's not worth risking a human life to save an animal. Also, as a precaution, the rescuer's legs should have been tied with rope, just in case if he slipped into the ditch. He could have been pulled out. That's what planning means – plan for the worst.

7. Next time it could be a kid.
Still no idea why such holes are kept open! There have been so many incidents in the past in india alone to understand this basic thing. Pathetic!

8. We all have to play our parts. But will proper safety measures.
OMG. This is very risky. People manage by themselves since no rescue system available from the govt. https://t.co/xnn2R2E1cq

9. Can we all just be better human beings with some sense not to turn into lunatic mobs?
In India lunatic mobs kills innocent fellow Indians. But some good samaritans like this guy risk there life to save others. #AlwarLynching #lynchings #Lynching https://t.co/YH6OLZXivR

Kudos to the men involved for risking their lives to save the poor animal. Having said that, please don’t try this yourself unless you have proper rescue gear. Also, next time you see an unmanned hole, alert the authorities or just gather something to close it up yourself if possible.
