Recently, 323 Indian citizens were evacuated from coronavirus-inflicted Wuhan and were brought back to India by an Air India flight. This was the 2nd flight which was sent to Wuhan from India. We saw how a group of Indians were seen dancing and celebrating at a quarantine camp after returning. However, the 323 Indians weren’t the only ones who were rescued.
According to a report by India Today, 7 Maldives citizens were also rescued by India from Wuhan.
Maldivian President, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih took to Twitter to thank India for rescuing the Maldivians and described it as a “fine example of the outstanding friendship and camaraderie” between the two counties, reports NDTV.
My thanks and gratitude to PM @narendramodi, EM @DrSJaishankar and the Government of India for expeditiously evacuating the 7 Maldivians residing in Wuhan, China. This gesture is a fine example of the outstanding friendship and camaraderie between our two countries. https://t.co/2kdWLmYqft
