Maldivian President Thanks India For Rescuing 7 Maldives Citizens From Wuhan

Recently, 323 Indian citizens were evacuated from coronavirus-inflicted Wuhan and were brought back to India by an Air India flight. This was the 2nd flight which was sent to Wuhan from India. We saw how a group of Indians were seen dancing and celebrating at a quarantine camp after returning. However, the 323 Indians weren’t the only ones who were rescued.

According to a report by India Today, 7 Maldives citizens were also rescued by India from Wuhan.

Maldivian President, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih took to Twitter to thank India for rescuing the Maldivians and described it as a “fine example of the outstanding friendship and camaraderie” between the two counties, reports NDTV.

The Maldivian Foreign Minister, Abdulla Shahid, also took to Twitter to express his “deep gratitude”.

The official Twitter account of the Indian Embassy in the Maldives tweeted that this action “reflects historic ties of kinship” between the two countries.

Desi people on the internet are indeed proud of such a kind act by India and holding it as an example of friendship that should be between fellow nations. Maldivian citizens also took to the comment section to extend their gratitude to India.
