Check Out India’s Rank In The List Of ‘Most Corrupt Countries In The World’

Corruption in India is a reality and there are hardly a few who would disagree. And it is no surprise that despite being one of the top ‘developing’ nations, our country has successfully earned an ‘alarming’ rank in the latest Corruption Perceptions Index released by Berlin-based think-tank Transparency International.

In the list which ranked 180 countries according to the amount of corruption in their administrative and political institutions, India was placed at the 78th spot. Which means, 77 countries among the considered 180 can boast of better and cleaner management than India.

Well, this was expected. Wasn’t it? But wait. It is also to be noted that India rose eight places from last year to grab the position.

While Denmark earned the tag of the cleanest state in the world, the second and the third spot went to New Zealand and Finland respectively.

Talking about the most corrupted countries in the world, Somalia ranked the lowest and was termed as the country with the weakest administration. While South Sudan and Syria were tied at 178, Kim Jong-un’s North Korea stood at 176, being the 4th most corrupted nation in the world.

Here are the worst 10:

Donald Trump’s United States Of America slipped out of the top 20 cleanest states and settled for the 22nd spot. On the other hand, Pakistan was placed at 117.

Considering that India a long way to go, we have only one thing to say, ‘Jaago India, Jaago’.
