Choosing a career in arts is not always as glamorous or fun as it seems. Success does not happen overnight in this industry. It takes years of hard work, study, self-doubting, rejection and countless discarded pieces of work to get to that point. And as an artist, one of the most infuriating things ever, is having to ask for due credit for your work, the same project you slaved over for hours (if not days or months even).
Many artists have been the victims of plagiarism and for someone still in their struggling phase, it is truly devastating. And when one artist himself puts out an offensive statement in the matter, it can have disastrous results.
Actor Hrithik Roshan has found himself in the crosshairs following a statement with regards to the artist credit debate.
The star recently tweeted out the following:
I find it funny when people fight to attribute credit in any creative work. It’s like questioning who is better – the painters hand or the painting itself.
— Hrithik Roshan (@iHrithik) July 1, 2018
Twitter folk have not taken lightly to Hrithik’s statement and took it upon themselves to school the Krrish star:
1. Please, give that a try Hrithik.
If it's the finished product that's so important, why do you charge for the work then? Do all your films for free, do them for the satisfaction of the best painting ever. https://t.co/vZntEDji4x

2. Very funny indeed.
I find it funny when people fight to get money for acting well, something that is there passion. It's like questioning who made it better – the 20 cr paycheck + profit sharing, or his passion for acting. https://t.co/bAzIDnUjLk

3. Well said.
It is not funny that you can not separate creation from creator…
if you can not give the credit to the creator…
your motive is most likely to be a stealer… https://t.co/SfDShci7SY— Ap (@Me_Benaam) July 2, 2018
4. Where have I heard that dialogue before? Oh, wait…
When you don't have to depend on credits for further work because tum aur tumhare pitaji ke paas toh duniya bhar ka paisa hai https://t.co/xD9q10SK2v

8. Again.
Guess what douchebag, not everybody gets their fucken faces on the poster.
If I didn’t get credit for the work I’ve done, I’d get no work in the future.
BC we have to fight for payments, now this fucker thinks credit doesn’t matter either.
Fuck nepotism https://t.co/IzXTCljk05

Hrithik, this isn’t like the existential “Which came first, chicken or the egg?” question. In case you still aren’t clear on the answer to your ‘funny’ little query, it’s the painter’s hand. There would be no painting, if not for the hand that created it.
