Brad Hodge Apologises To Virat Kohli But R Ashwin Decides To Take One Final Dig

Virat Kohli has faced a lot of flak, from both the Australian media and some of the players during the recent series at Dharamsala. Brad Hodge, a former Australian batsman, made some particularly nasty comments about Kohli and questioned his ethics for opting out of such a crucial series. Following the outburst, Hodge was severely criticised online with even Amitabh Bachchan slamming the former batsman.

Realising his mistake, Brad Hodge wrote a heartfelt letter apologising to Virat Kohli for his comments about the Indian skipper, which he posted on Twitter.

“The public and fans have every right to be upset and the backlash I have received has certainly driven the point home.”

While it was a decent gesture from Brad Hodge, R Ashwin couldn’t help but add a bit of light humour to the entire issue.

The comments made by Brad Hodge certainly deserved the backlash that he got. Apologising for it was certainly a nice gesture. It’s upsetting whenever sportsmen decide to question each other’s ethics in a game that is supposed to bring the world closer together. While friendly banter is appreciated, making nasty comments just ruins the spirit of the game.
