The Infamous Hyderabad Thief Who Stole A Harley Davidson Bike Is Actually An IITian

A couple of days back a CCTV camera footage surfaced that showed a man take a Street 750 bike for a test ride and ride off into the sunset. This may sound dramatic, except the man never came back to return the bike to the Harley Davidson showroom in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad.

The guy who appeared to be in his 30s and who had introduced himself as Syed Taher software engineer has finally been recognized by the Hyderabad Police.

Meet Turlapati Kiran, 27, an IIT-Madras graduate, who is currently an executive engineer for ONGC offshore site in Mumbai.

His father, Turlapati Prakash of Neredmet is a former junior commissioned officer, used to work in Hyderabad as a Special Police Officer (SPO) and was taken into police custody to bring in his son.

Unsmart move, Harley thief. You had a Street 750. You could have driven off into the sunset, or somewhere else. And more importantly, you have a degree from IIT. What were you thinking?
