For Indians, cricket is not a game but a religion and a match of team India is a ritual that none must miss. Similarly, we, Indians are also famous for our ‘jugaads‘ (the hilariously creative ways we get things done for ourselves). Basically, India’s love for cricket and ‘jugaad’ is immense.
Imagine the fun if both of our favorite things unite!
Well, recently, team India was set to kick off the 3 matches, T20 series against Sri Lanka at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati.
Things and weather were fine until India won the toss and opted to bowl, reports TOI. But before both the teams could lock horns with each other on the ground, it rained, heavily!
The ground staff was quick to cover the ground and pitch. But as soon it stopped raining and the ground covers were removed, it began raining again. This time the ground staff could not save the pitch from getting damp. So, as the clouds cleared, the staff left no stone unturned to make the pitch dry as soon as possible.
And that’s where ‘jugaad’ met cricket! The techniques used included the use of a hairdryer, vacuum cleaner, and an iron box, reports IE. This naturally inspired a meme fest on social media.

Google : “A hair dryer, hairdryer or blow dryer is an electromechanical device that blows ambient or hot air over damp hair to speed the evaporation of water to dry the hair”

Though nothing worked and the match was called off, BCCI still managed to make our day by their weird pitch drying techniques for sure!
