Most people from our generation tend to think of out-of-the-box pickup lines to ask somebody out for a date. They would rather break their heads while trying to come up with something hatke than just simply ask, Would you like to go out on a date with me? In today’s world where everything is so complicated, it’s good to be simple. Like this guy.
A woman named Sarah Weaver took to Twitter to share a screenshot of a message a guy sent her where he very simply yet respectfully asks her if she would want to go out on a date with him.
“Would you be interested in letting me take you on a date sometime? We have a lot in common and I think we’d enjoy getting to know each other. I don’t live terribly far from Hillsdale, I’d be happy to drive down sometime and buy you dinner if you were up for it?” he wrote.
So simple, yet so smooth.
And the rest, as they say, is history. Sarah is now engaged to the guy, whose name is Chase Wilder.
She posted the two pictures side by side as a part of Twitter’s neverending yet heartwarming trend “How it started & How it’s going.”

People online loved this so much and said that one doesn’t need to try too hard to score a date. Sometimes being their normal selves and respectful is all they need.
love to see a good guy respectfully shoot his shot and actually score😭 congrats!

This is an incredible first message and I wish more men would take note… if you’re romantically interested in someone on here, do *not* be obtuse.
It’s aggravating to guess at someone’s intentions. Actually say the word date. Make a plan. Watch your odds increase. 🫡

We hope this inspires a lot of people to ask the person they like on a date. Dignified conversations never go out of style!
