Girls, hasn’t this happened to you that a guy with a really nice beard just immediately catches your attention? Happened over a million times, right? Have you wondered why? Why are most women attracted by a bushy beard? Well, science has the answers to all your questions. So, wait and read ahead!
700 males and females were shown pictures of 37 male faces and they were asked to judge them on the basis of attractiveness when they were clean shaven and with a beard. According to a study co-authored by Glasgow university’s Dr. Anthony Lee and St Andrew’s Sean Talamas, found out that women found bearded jaws more attractive than clean-shaven faces!
The researchers believe that beard makes the jaw look more prominent which is a sign of masculinity, dominance and sex appeal. They also said,
“We found that bearded faces in which the jaw size was manipulated to appear less prominent were judged as most attractive, followed by bearded faces and clean-shaven faces with larger jaws. Clean-shaven faces with smaller jaws were rated the least attractive.”
Testosterone levels during puberty play a major role in deciding men’s facial width. More the testosterone more will be the width.
So, basically, beards are all about the sex appeal and masculinity. Well, guys, apart from being a really nice person, a really bushy BEARD should get you lucky enough!
