‘Koffee with Karan’, and I’m sure you’ll agree, is the testing stone of Bollywood. While the host, Karan Johar sits with his dost(s) on the fancy couch, it is a given that a lot more brews than just coffee. I mean, if you credit the conspiracies and conjectures, it definitely seems like no time is bad time for some gossip.
However, the tables turned when the ‘Queen’, Kangana Ranaut graced the show. For her debut, she called Karan ‘movie mafia‘ and ‘flag bearer of nepotism‘ among other things and left little to imagination.
And while Karan played along then, his recent rebuttal of being ‘done with‘ her has grabbed more eyeballs than ever.
“She deserves all the national awards but I’m done with Kangana playing the victim card.”
Needless to mention, the internet has taken sides and is waging war of words.
Although, there are an array of disses that can be found, one thread, literally one thread, by a Twitter user has evoked a lot of feelings we didn’t think we had.Â

2. The KWK episode is testimony.Â
Makes patriarchal films, practices nepotism, and can't handle it when someone who's not from his cosy inner circle calls him out.

3. Not a victim, but a survivor!
So easy to say 'If you don't like it, leave it' to someone who doesn't have your immense privileges, Karan Johar.
— Shreya Ila Anasuya (@shreyilaanasuya) March 6, 2017
4. So much for the ‘platform’!
For the record, you're not some saint for not censoring Kangana Ranaut's (accurate and insightful) views about Bollywood's poisonous elitism

5. At least acknowledge…
… and the part that you yourself play in it. You have to recognise what happens when the production of art and culture is so easy for only

6. So many other!
a few people. Large swathes of people in this country are held back by their gender, caste, sexuality, class, ability, and other factors.

7. WORD
When you make it about one individual and make them the problem it's your own ignorance and smugness you're showing.
— Shreya Ila Anasuya (@shreyilaanasuya) March 6, 2017
8. Please?
In summation, check your privilege, Karan Johar.

In times when pot-shots are everybody’s business, this thread raises a pertinent question!
