People who lived with a roommate will agree on how important it is to have a good room partner. And from good, I mean someone who can be the Monica to your Rachel or Chandler to your Joey. Who at least tries to understand your emotion and gives you enough space and never judges you.
This student identified as Sam Smithburger has set the best example of how roomies stick together in sickness and in health. In a viral video, Sam is seen cleaning her roommate Jenna’s room as she barely gets time to even look at it after juggling between 6 classes, 2 jobs, and internship. Sam showed the entire process of cleaning the room that included scrubbing her bathroom, vacuuming everything, and even doing Jenna’s laundry.
Here’s how the room looked before Sam did her magic:
Although the original video was shared on TikTok, it has now made it to all social media platforms.
This is my favorite Tik Tok right now. Bless the friends and family who understand how stressful, depressing, and chaotic life can get. pic.twitter.com/cDLjRCashQ

“My roommate has been very overwhelmed lately (6 classes, 2 jobs, an internship, and just totaled her car. So today I decided to clean her entire room so she can get some sleep (and we can get drunk),” she wrote in the video. She even ropes in her friend Sean to help her make her roommate Jenna’s room squeaky clean. And ‘6 hours and 1 bottle of titos later’ the job was done.
While some Twitter users thought Sam’s gesture was commendable, others expressed concern on how Sam has encroached upon her roommate’s space.
Ummmm these are amazing friends 🥺🥺🥺

This is real cute but I know that I would have a panic attack because I get really ashamed of my ADHD/ depression mess and having someone enter that space puts me on EDGE. Like I wouldn’t be able to think about anything other than them judging me for letting it get that bad.

Nah, I can’t agree with this one. Mama always said .. “never go to sleep with a dirty house” smh.

As someone who suffers from depression it doesn’t take much for your home to look this way some days I couldn’t even get out of bed let alone clean anything and at other points n my life between school full time and work full time I wasn’t home enough to clean so I get it

Am I the only one who hates when someone tries to clean my room. Dirty or not I know where everything is. If you move stuff around when I’m not there it’s gonna take forever for me to find something. Then I ask where it is and they say they don’t know

Jenna later took to Twitter and shared how lucky she was to have Sam as her friend.
Ok yea I’m room girl😅 I was embarrassed bc it’s hard to admit to struggling, especially to 7 million people but I’ve seen so many conversations about mental health start bc of this. Feeling supported instead of judged is huge. Sam is an incredible example of that I’m so lucky🥺 https://t.co/VliftiCyuY
