I bet you have heard a lot of bizarre things in times that we live in. But if you thought nothing could you shock you now, well, that is about to change! Unfortunately, it comes with disdain and disappointment.
In mind-baffling incident, students in Kannur, appearing for National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test or NEET were met with bewildering treatment and what followed will leave you furious!
According to Deccan Chronicle, girls at the TISK English Medium School, Kunhimangalam near Koovapram in Payyannur, were allegedly asked to remove their bras before entering the examination hall minutes before their exam.
“They asked me to change the innerwear, but this is mentioned nowhere in NEET instructions. It was already 9.20am and I had only 10 more minutes to enter the hall. I asked them to permit me to use the toilet to change, but they refused.”
“There were no houses nearby. Thankfully, only lady invigilators and staff were present at the entry point. So I removed it from there itself.”
Can you imagine the plight of the students? The girls were asked to remove dresses with metal hooks or buttons because the rules did not permit them to allow metallic items inside the examination halls. Apparently many other girls also faced similar situations and were left in tears!
The student further went on to add,
“The incidents shattered my confidence in attending the examination, for which I had been preparing for a year.”
Naturally, this has angered the likes of many parents. Renuka, mother of a girl who appeared for the exam has condemned the authorities for such a practise.
Another mother said,
“My daughter went inside the centre, only to return later and hand me her top innerwear.”
According to a report in TOI, another parent, Rajesh Nambiar, said his daughter had to change her pair of jeans because it had metal buttons and pockets.
This is humiliation and mental harassment in the guise of rules! Are the lawmakers listening?
