Nawaz Reveals That The Famous ‘Permission’ Scene With Huma Was Based On A Real Life Incident

‘Gangs Of Wasseypur’ is undoubtedly one of the greatest movies of all time, and I don’t even need to say why. Nawazuddin Siddiqui has become our favourite with his eccentric acting skills and the way in which he lives all his characters. He is certainly an actor with immense talent who has struggled his way through life and he is dazzling us with all his performances.

‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ is also a major milestone in Nawazuddin’s career and this particular romantic scene with Huma Qureshi where he gets all teary eyed after being scolded by Huma for touching her hand without “permission.” Remember how we still crack up on that scene? But as it turns out, that iconic scene has actually happened to Nawaz in real life! And I am not kidding.

In a recent visit to NSD (National School Of Drama) as an ex-student, Nawazuddin revealed his experience which inspired this particular scene.

“It (the scene) was from my personal experience.”

“When I was in the second year, I asked a junior to go to a garden with me. We were sitting, and then I put my hand on her hand to which she sternly asked me, ‘What are you doing?’ And I simply said, ‘Touching your hand’. To which she replied, ‘This is illegal’. I forgot everything after that, and started imagining myself in jail!”

This honest revelation makes us go ‘aww’ for the greatest gangster Faizal and Nawaz!

There were many more questions to which Nawaz answered in his cool manner. When a girl from NSD said to him,

“Aapko itne paas se dekhna is like a dream come true.”

To which Nawaz answered jovially,

“NAHIN ABHI BHI AAP KAAFI DOOR HAIN MUJHSE!”

This super talented actor can not only weave magic with his performances but is also a dear soul!
