This African Student Is Hilariously Recreating Celebrity Pics Using Inexpensive Items

The internet has given a platform to many artists, content creators and influencers to showcase their creativity and talent. There are numerous accounts dedicated to music, arts and crafts, food and comedy. But my favourite ones are parody accounts that recreate couture looks of celebrities. Out of these, the ones that stand out for their attention to detail and mass appeal are by Russian blogger Yuriy Isterika and Thai cosplayer Sine Benjaphorn.

Recently, I found another one by a 22-year-old African student and his low-cost imitations using household items are hilarious AF!

Toheeb Adedokun Akorede aka Funny Toheeb hails from Nigeria. He uses inexpensive things like noodles, paper, ribbons and leaves to duplicate outfits sported by stars.

In an interview with Humour & Style Magazine, Toheeb revealed that his journey started when he emulated a photo of Wizkid wearing a D&G face mask. His post quickly went viral and Wizkid himself re-posted it on his stories. Then began his creative pursuit along with his friend, an art student who styles and photographs him.

This is the photo that started it all. Less than a year later, he has amassed a whopping 557,000 followers on his Instagram.

Toheeb’s aim with these photos is to add a bit of fun and craziness to everyone’s life. And he takes this job very, very seriously; sometimes even going nude for the impersonations. Here are 15 of his best ones.

Who knew plastic bottles, garbage bags and utensils could be used in such a way? Toheeb definitely knows how to make the best out of waste, don’t you think?
