This is a heartwarming tale of friendship and environmental responsibility. A guy named Saurabh took to X (formerly Twitter) to share how he and four other friends of his were travelling via train on sleeper class from Darbhanga to Delhi. They decided to keep a bag with themselves where they would deposit all the garbage left from their journey, like plastic bottles and packets. When they reached Delhi, they put the packet inside a dustbin they found nearby.
Little did they know that this simple yet impactful act of theirs during the trip would become an inspiring example of how small gestures can contribute to a cleaner and healthier environment.
“Our small effort not only kept train & tracks clean but also reduced the efforts of cleaners to clean the train,” Saurabh wrote on X.
Few Days Back, We 5 Frnd took a SL class Journey from Darbhanga to Delhi, We kept a bag with us where we kept all our garbage and put it in dustbin when reached Delhi, Our small effort not only kept train & tracks clean but also reduced the efforts of cleaners to clean the train pic.twitter.com/wR4KzA6yaq

He further urged other people online to carry at least one garbage bag in order to stop themselves from littering inside the train. If every single passenger on a train did this, imagine how clean the trains would be!
This isn’t a big thing for every individual to carry one garbage bag but people litter inside the train or on the tracks which make both dirty, Our one step can make Train journeys neat and clean for everyone, only if we are Mannered enough but I don’t see this coming any soon 🙂

This set a wonderful example for innumerable people online who shared similar hacks and stories in the comments section. This serves as a reminder that every person, regardless of their background, has the power to make a positive difference.
Don’t throw without crushing the bottle.Even if you forgot to crush don’t forget to put the cap into the hole. I always do the above.
Throwing bottles without crushing has demerits. It will be collected for reuse again. Imagine drinking water from a bottle used in toilet— Prem naam hai mera (@knwlover) November 22, 2023
Good, I always do this from my childhood while travelling by bus, railway. Keeping carribag is not a big achievement its necessity of every human.

Good work.. Most won’t bother to do it.
It’s a big task to get people to use even the garbage bags provided in between coaches let alone carry their garbage.

I try not buying more bottles, instead fill up the same bottle anywhere I find an opportunity. Nowadays most of the stations have a 5/- per L filling stations. Can use them and outside the railways, we can fill them up at hotels, etc.

This is actually a big deal but 98% of ppl around us – thou maybe highly educated, wont care to do it !!
So proud to say, we indiand are one of the most indisciplined ppl on board! Irony is – we all have the strictest parents, yet look at us!!

This small effort by every passenger will turn out to be a big help to IR as well as passengers themselves. Last week wen I travelled PPL have thrown tea cups in wash basin

Not only in the train, make it a habit to do the same even when you go in a car or a 2wheeler and contaminate this habit with all your known and unknown people. 👍

In an era of constant environmental issues, such stories stand as beacons of hope!
