Trusting someone to bring us the food we eat is in a way, the highest level of trust we bestow on a total stranger. And when our food is delivered, we just hope that it’s alright – ignorance is bliss. But there have been cases where delivery executives nibble your order, that it’s impossible to turn a blind eye towards this. And if you were to check this nauseating report out, it’s worse than you think.
A survey conducted by US Foods revealed that roughly 54 per cent of food delivery executives at least feel tempted to take a bite out of the customer’s food. While, 28% of them admitted to
The survey was conducted over a sample of 497 drivers from various food delivery services like UberEats, GrubHub, etc. The researchers of the survey reportedly shared-
“We’re sorry to report that sometimes, impulse gets the best of deliverers, and they violate their sacred duty by taking some of the food!”
The study also found that 21% of customers had suspected a deliverer of nibbling on their meal — and this gross confession from around 500 drivers won’t most likely help their suspicion. According to the study, 85 percent of customers want to see tamper-evident labels on the food to ensure the safety of their order before it reaches their houses.
When asked how upset they would be about a deliverer grabbing a few fries, customers reported they’d rate their dissatisfaction at 8.4 on a scale of 1 being “no big deal” and 10 as “absolutely unacceptable.”
So, the next time you order food online, hope for the best. Or better yet, get a take-out yourself!
