UK Saw Its First Gay Muslim Marriage And People Can’t Get Over The Grooms’ Happy Faces

Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength while loving someone deeply gives you courage.

The LGBTQ community all across the world is still fighting to be able to express their love openly. And in a situation like this, any example doesn’t just spread love, but gives immense courage to others to follow their heart.

24-year-old Jahed Choudhury and 19-year-old Sean Rogan have become the first men in the UK to have a gay Muslim wedding. They tied the knot in Walsall on 22 June.

Both the grooms looked incredibly handsome in their traditional Islamic dress.

Jahed always felt like an outsider in his own family as he liked fashion more than football. He was bullied throughout his school life because of the same. He said,

“People would spit on me, empty the rubbish bins on me, call me a pig and the Muslim people would shout ‘harum’ – which is a very nasty insult in my language.”

The bullying had gotten to him and even made him consider taking his own life. But then he met Rogan and his life changed.

“I was crying on a bench and Sean came over and asked if I was okay. He gave me hope at one of my lowest points and he’s stood by me all the way,” Jahed recalled.

The couple started dating and moved in together eventually. After getting married, they went for a wonderful honeymoon in Spain and had a lovely time.

“Now I am happy, I’m out and proud,” says Jahed.
