After every incident of rape or any other kind of sexual assault gets reported by our media, people take no time in judging the victim for her clothes, her behaviour, her sexuality, and her choice of staying out late. While sane people would understand that none of these things actually matter, a shocking incident has yet again proved that only the sick mentality of a rapist plays a part in such incidents.
In a horrific incident, a 54-year-old resident of Coventry, England raped his 16-year-old homosexual daughter when she revealed her sexual identity to him. The rapist wanted to show the girl that sex is better with men.
The man isn’t named to protect the identity of the victim.
In the past, the man has committed similar atrocities against his other daughters too. He pleaded ‘not guilty’ to all the nine charges held against him but Judge Andrew Lockhart QC of the Warwick Crown Court sentenced him to 21 years in prison. The judge said,
“As a 16-year-old girl she realised she was gay and, struggling with her identity as many people do at that age, she decided to tell you.
You reacted by showing real and uncontrolled anger, and you decided to rape her to show her why it would be better to have sex with men than women. Her evidence made harrowing listening.
That rape involved degradation and humiliation. The offence demonstrated your hostility towards her as a lesbian.”
Apart from the jail term, the man will also serve another five years on licence and will be registered as a ‘sex offender‘ for life.
The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) applauded the children for stepping up against their sick father.
Humanity, decency and moral ethics are dying a slow and painful death.
