It is the year 2016 and for some reason, people still continue to equate fairness with beauty. For some reason, we have this warped notion that fairness is the key to success. Don’t believe me? Just think back to every ‘Fair & Lovely’ advertisement you’ve ever seen.

Karunesh Talwar, in his latest standup clip, talks about these utterly evil advertisements by fairness creams. They depict a dark girl who’s completely failed at life. Everyone hates her and she has no hope for the future. Then all of a sudden, she’s handed this fairness cream from heaven and all her problems just disappear. If fairness is the solution to all of life’s problems, let’s just drop a few crates of ‘Fair & Lovely’ into Syria, right?
