Adultery, infidelity, and extramarital affair are some of the deal-breakers in any relationship, which of course can’t be tolerated by anyone. But, there are couples who are okay with their partners cheating on them because they have also broken a couple of relationship rules.
In fact, contrary to what we think, extramarital affairs are more common in Indian society. Nope, we arenât claiming this, but several people are.
Taking to Twitter, a user ‘defective pikachu⡒ stated this. She said:
“YâallâŚ. extra marital affairs are more common and normalised in the indian society than you thinkâŚi wasnât ready.” (sic)

She tweeted so after she came to know about a complicated cheating story about a couple.
“Someone ik cheated on his wife and she got to know and cheated on him to take revenge and the cheatees (ppl they cheated on with) ran into each other and realised what was happening to them via common friends.” (sic)
the thing which made me tweet – someone ik cheated on his wife and she got to know and cheated on him to take revenge đ and the cheatees (ppl they cheated on with) ran into each other and realised what was happening to them via common friendsđđ itâs SO kaleshi rn

Since most of us think that extramarital affair is a big NO-NO, her statement might come across as nonsensical to us. But, after going through the comments to her tweet, we were left flabbergasted.
People shared stories of married couples and those in a relationship getting involved with other people. Shockingly, there are also those who not just indulge in something as appalling as this but also encourage others to cheat on their partners.
When I was in my Dermatology posting during MBBS, we saw many patients of STD, mostly from extra marital affairs (that too within familyđ¤Ž). So yeah, very common.

Have heard a lot of terrible things from my colleagues (all 5-15 years older than me) about these kinds of situations. Even wife swapping is common in Mumbai, they said. Shocked I was.

The homemaker wifey has no option but to stay with him as she didn't study much and has 2 kids out of which one recently had a baby and 2nd kid ready for marriage. I tried bringing this topic with my parents and they say let it be , shut up .đ

A woman I know was warned about marrying this guy who had a reputation of cheating on his partners
She didn't listen & got married to him anyway
Now she has 2 young kids with him and this guy continues to cheat on her with multiple women
People have showed her proof as well + https://t.co/zbYJnFgoVY— sid (@SidKSchrute) April 29, 2023
i've lost count of affairs my father has had, told my mother. she used to cry, but father never stopped, my mother is still living with him. when society doesn't allow women to be financially independent, they are forced to live with their husbands despite knowing about cheating. https://t.co/q8ntbhoBu8

I know a guy who got married but could not take his wife to his work location (outside india) due to visa issues. He had an affair with a girl whose husband was in india due to visa issues. The best part is now all four of them often go on weekend trips together. https://t.co/WSF9n3O4t2

This person hit the nail on the head.
Irony is instead of normalising divorce, they have normalised extra marital affair in our society. Thatâs bound to happen , Given how big taboo âdivorceâ is.

These stories are sick. Not just the infidelity part, but the fact that so many people decided to stick to their cheating partners. It’s officially time to leave Earth!
