Entrepreneur Talks About Sudha Murty’s Simplicity After Meeting Her At A Busy Airport

Most celebrities are not like regular people. They don’t travel in crowded buses and autorickshaws or wait in lines while their favourite restaurants are out of seats. They are not seen in local shops and overall, they aren’t accessible. They receive VIP treatment wherever they go. But Sudha Murty isn’t one of them.

Sudha Murty is the Chairperson of Infosys Foundation. She is the wife of Narayana Murty, the founder of Infosys. Her son-in-law Rishi Sunak is the Prime Minister of the UK. She was awarded the Padma Bhushan, the third-highest civilian award in India, in 2023. Yet, Sudha Murty is like everyone else – she waits with her co-passengers at a busy airport and talks to people who come up to her.

This was shared by an entrepreneur named Jayanti Bhattacharya, who struck up a conversation with Sudha Murty at an airport. Taking to LinkedIn, she wrote:

“I heard about her grace, her grit, her intelligence and her creativity. What blew me away was her patience, her humility and her simplicity. Mrs Sudha Murthy, a Padmabhushan recipient (mother-in-law to the Prime Minister of the UK) – just waiting in a busy airport with us, talking and connecting with everyday people. It’s good to know that in a world of Elon Musks, we’ll always have our Sudha Murthy.”

Several people online agreed with Jayanti and claimed that Sudha Murty is unlike any high-profile figure. She is incredibly down-to-earth and is a living example of how we should stick to our roots and be humble. While some called her a tole model, others regarded her as a gem of a human being. There will always be only one Sudha Murty. 🙂
